The Shingler family welcomes you to Lower Lacon Caravan Park, situated just one mile from the attractive market town of Wem, North Shropshire. Excellent train and bus services mean that many local attractions are also easily accessible, such as the historic towns of Shrewsbury, Ellesmere and Whitchurch, all within ten miles of the campsite.

Opening & Closing Dates

We are open all year round.

New Years Eve is only available to book through reception. Facilities are reduced in low and winter season.

Booking Deposits

Touring & Camping:
We require a 20% deposit at the time of booking. The remaining holiday balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Rental Accommodation:
Pods require a £50 security deposit amount at the time of booking. The remaining holiday balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Holiday homes require a £100 security deposit amount at the time of booking. The remaining holiday balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Please ensure that your credit/debit card address and postcode match your customer details when making your booking.

Touring & Camping

Facilities for RV’s, motorhomes, tourers and tents open all year round. Grass and hard standing pitches available. Amenities include two toilet blocks, free showers, two laundry rooms, entry barrier system, 24 hour emergency cover, resident warden/owners on site, rallies welcomed low season (must be booked in advance) and caravan storage area.

Holiday Homes

All 5 holiday homes are fully central heated and double glazed. The luxury holiday homes have private decking with table and chairs and are upgraded to a large television. All 5 holiday homes are just a short walk to the swimming pool and shop. Available for long weekend, mid-week and weekly breaks.

Season 1st April to Bonfire Weekend.

Holiday homes are still available in the winter weather dependent.

Camping Pods

The best way to describe a camping pod is as a stylish wooden tent. They are well insulated with wool and have a small decking to the front plus a grass area for barbecues or sitting out in the sun. Available for long weekend, mid-week and weekly breaks.

Rental accommodation security deposit is in addition to the hire charge. This security deposit is refunded after the unit is cleaned; if there is no damage & the accommodation is left in an acceptable condition. The refund may take up to a week.
